Reading and Discussion Groups
Graduate students in History organise and participate in a wide range of seminars and reading or discussion groups. Some are general in scope, others cater to students and academic staff who share a particular historical place or time or interpretive interest. Some of these are small local groups, others are larger inter-university seminars which also draw attendees from the other Melbourne universities. Some groups persist for decades; others wax and wane with shifting student interests.
Please let the Graduate team know if you have an active group which is not yet listed here.
If you are interested in forming a new group in an area not yet covered, the postgraduate email list is a good way to float the idea and locate some others who share your interests, or who may want to form a group to read or discuss together in particular historical or theoretical areas.
See also the School of Historical Studies events calendar for lectures, seminars, conferences, forums and other events throughout the School.
