School of Historical Studies History

Life Long Learning (Community Access Program)

The School of Historical Studies encourages life-long learning in the community via the Community Access Program (CAP).

CAP opens up study opportunities so that everyone has a chance to experience the benefits of expert tuition at the University of Melbourne. CAP students attend the same classes as degree students during semester.

Over sixty subjects from 1st to 3rd year level are offered in History. You can choose from subjects offered in Australian, American, Medieval, Middle Eastern, Asian, British, and European History. Subjects that are primarily thematic look at issues such as gender, culture, Jewish studies and postcolonialism.

As well as semester-long subjects, intensive and study abroad subjects are also offered through CAP.

For a full list of available subjects visit the School of Historical Studies subject list.
