Keir Reeves
Keir Reeves is a graduate of Monash and Melbourne Universities. His doctoral dissertation was on the Chinese on the Mount Alexander diggings. He has recently been awarded an Australian Research Council Postdoctoral Fellowship to undertake research into the history and cultural landscapes of central Victoria and to consider the international significance of the region in terms of its world heritage values. He is also currently working on heritage projects in Cambodia and Laos.
Research interests include: gold mining history, Chinese-Australian history, comparative Pacific history, public history, heritage studies and cultural landscape analysis. His current research is focused on the cultural mining landscapes of central Victoria and its associated intangible heritage. He is particularly interested in the intersection of cultural landscape analysis and oral history.
Keir's teaching interests are concentrated on public history and heritage studies in Asia and the Pacific.
